The Mio Masato one was pretty funny too.

"Please make my lunch from now on!"

"I don't want to."

"J-just a little bit..."

"I don't want to."

Ouch, Mio. That's cold.

I thought so too at first, but you can see how Rin is hesitant to grab Riki's hand as their handles fumble about.

Well, I want to be optimistic, but considering how boring the first season was, I don't have high hopes. Knowing what's coming up, I just wish it was Kyoto-animation doing it - yeah, I know, beating a dead horse and all, but still... /sigh. I'll watch it, and I'll hope that JC Staff does it justice, but like I said, my expectations are set very low.

It's a pretty safe bet that way anyway lol.
I'm just glad they're at least showing potential for the good scenes. I don't expect more than slightly above average animation throughout the entire thing, but we'll see.

B-But I thought we all learned our lesson on Kyoani when they decided to remove characters and anime only viewers asking ( I for one am glad that Keyoani relationship is over =

Air: What Crow?
Kanon 2006: What Mirracle?
Clannad: What orb?
and no little busters =/: What Reset?

Pretty much this, also.
KyoAni fucks derps to shit when it comes to the Key magic, although, Little Busters is much more straightforward about it in the VN, so it could go either way.
Other decisions though, like whether or not to animate all the routes like in Clannad, story changes, proper foreshadowing, removing romance (all the routes, or keep it for Kurugaya like from JC Staff), etc.
They could've pulled a miracle and actually done a good job at setting up the ending, or could just be a well animated and not make much sense.
JC Staff has at least hinted the Secret of the World and done thorough foreshadowing, and the scriptwriter said she re-read the routes 5 times to be more careful, and female series composer = maximum fujoshi scenes = sugoi

Objectively, Clannad still gets a lot of hate on sites like 4chan over how badly the true ending was foreshadowed, and I would hate to see Little Busters fall into that same boat with the adaptation.
The first season had lackluster animation, but it had the essential content. They didn't remove the importance of the Secret of the World or any of the characters, and made the audience anticipate the Secret moreso than in the VN.

Just let KyoAni continue producing their cancerous moeblob anime instead of quality moe works.

The kyoani and key combo pretty much died when kyoani started their LN awards which gave rise to chu2byo and free. If they were to plan an LB project it would be 2015 the earliest it would air. And 2016 for refrain and key plus fans cant wait that long.
As long as the animation is consistent and they follow the vn and not mess up the music or voice acting refrain will be great.

One of the reasons I disliked Rin so much=/ I remember that scene like it was yesterday.
Riki: Rin lets go weve been found out!!
He grabs her hands....
Rin: But what about the cat!
Riki: They will be fine pulls Rin to run away
Rin uses bite and its super effective ( I CANT LEAVE THE CAT! )

This trailer gives off everything if you taken down all the notes and hints from season 1. I think an anime viewer can figure out the secret of the world after watching this PV.

Probably. A lot of people can figure out stuff like
but the story itself makes all those scenes awesome once you know why every bit of it is happening. And the precise execution would be kind of hard to imagine, though attentive people could come pretty close...

Although I like the first season, I wasn't all that big on it. But for some reason, I'm extremely pumped for Refrain, it just gives off this After Story vibe. The second song in the pv sounds like something that would be used in Clannad too, I really like it and want to hear the full version.

To be honest, it's not really possible for Refrain to be bad.

Though JC's animation and music is rather lacklustre at times, they've done a very good job adapting the actual story content so far.

Refrain's story will "carry" the anime, and from this PV, it does seem like JC knows how to handle this plot.

...though the animation could use some work.

Even in the preview the animation in the scene with Masato and Rin looked weak which sucks because that was my favorite CG in the VN.

I'm just glad it doesn't look like this... http://sushigokart.files.wordpress.com/2012/12/little-busters-09-15.jpg

But yeah, I think it might be a bit overhyped, but because how that PV actually looked like some above average animation, it contrasted with the rushed and crappily animated season 1 and seemed pretty good.
That specific scene won't air for another 5 or 6 months or so, since it's later on in Refrain, so hopefully things will improve further by then.
Madhouse animates tons of SAKUGA fights for stuff like Hunter x Hunter, but I still didn't feel as much of an impact in the fights with the 93 episodes so far than I did with that short animation clip of character I've come to love, so yeah. I'm not expecting some SSJ Goku vs. Majin Vegeta fight or something. I had lo expectations for the trailer to begin with, so I was pleased that they're making my favorite scenes look better than the VN, at least.

Presentation, execution, and significance of scenes > animation quality.
Some of my favorite anime and favorite scenes don't even have top level animation, and I didn't really like some well animated shows too much like 5cm per second or Redline.

Kyoani's works in the past 2 years have proven to me that amazing animation does not equal an enjoyable anime :3

though I'm sure there will be a few sub par episodes in refrain anyway, particularly common route.....

wait does anyone know how much budget is put into refrain ._. I remember everyone saying season 1 had low budget, but was there any actual numbers of what it was :O

It's not like we haven't been trolled by their PV before.
Remember this

The characters and animation in that PV looks so much better than the actual series especially Komari, Haruka and Masato. That PV actually made me go play the VN. I also remembered I watched the LB! opening back in 2007. So much nostalgia.

They better not have spent all their budget on that PV LOL. All I want is consistent animation. What really matters are how the events are shown and the directing.

When I re-watch LB!, I like to watch every heroine's arc ending. The individual routes may be rushed but the resolution at the end is pretty good.
Also episodes 2,15,20 is imo where they did a pretty good job on the comedy.

Episodes I enjoy rewatching:

12, 15, 24.

My favorite route from the anime is also Mio's route heh. I felt like each episode had the right pacing and the resolution was good. Although Haruka's route was my favorite in the VN, we will never forget the breakdown from several users which was created by episode 16. ( I was overseas when it aired, and came back only to find the thread on fire xD). But Haruka's route had the best resolution Imo which saved it.
